Privacy Policy

🛡️Our Non-Negotiable Privacy Principles
Your course names, credit hours, and grades never leave your device. All calculations occur inside your browser using client-side JavaScript.
We do not use advertising tracking pixels, cross-site trackers, or third-party fingerprinting scripts. We do not sell user data.
You never need to create a profile, supply an email address, or disclose your academic institution to use any calculator or converter.
Because we never ingest or store personally identifiable student education records, your academic privacy remains entirely in your own hands.
1. Information We Do Not Collect
Unlike legacy educational portals, YourGPACalculator.com does not operate user accounts, databases of student transcripts, or backend grading engines. When you enter:
- Course titles (e.g., "Organic Chemistry", "AP English Literature")
- Credit hours or contact units
- Assigned letter grades or percentage scores
- Cumulative GPA historical totals and prior completed units
This data remains strictly in your device's memory (DOM). It is never transmitted across the network, stored in cloud databases, or viewed by our staff.
2. Local Browser Storage & URL Parameters
To deliver a modern, friction-free user experience, our application uses two harmless browser-level features:
ygpa_theme):When you toggle dark/light mode, we save your choice in your browser's localStorage to prevent screen flickering between visits.
When you click "Share Calculation", our tool serializes your active courses into the URL hash or query parameters (e.g. ?courses=...). This allows you to bookmark your calculation or share it with an academic advisor. This URL is parsed solely by your browser.
3. Infrastructure & Edge Hosting
Our static pages are served globally via Cloudflare's secure Content Delivery Network (CDN). Cloudflare automatically processes standard web server access logs for DDoS mitigation, bot detection, and edge caching. These temporary logs include:
- IP addresses (anonymized and purged per Cloudflare's privacy guidelines)
- Browser user-agent and operating system details
- Requested page URLs and timestamps
We do not use tracking cookies, behavioral ad retargeting, or invasive analytics suites.
4. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA)
Our tools are safe for high school and middle school students under the age of 13 because we do not solicit, require, or store any personally identifiable information (PII). We comply fully with the requirements of COPPA.
5. Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)
Under FERPA (20 U.S.C. § 1232g), student educational records are strictly protected. Because YourGPACalculator.com does not collect, record, or transmit educational records to any school, institution, or third party, students can safely evaluate "what-if" grade scenarios without jeopardizing their official educational record privacy.
6. Your Rights Under GDPR & CCPA/CPRA
Because we do not collect personal identifiers, maintain user accounts, or track individuals across websites, we have no personal data profiles to modify, export, or erase. If you have any inquiries regarding data protection regulations, you can contact our privacy officer at any time.
